El mexicano Guillermo del Toro ganó el Premio Oscar a Mejor Director, Mejor Película, Mejor Diseño de Producción y Mejor Música Original, con “La forma del Agua” (The shape of water).
Del Toro es el tercer director mexicano en ganar el Oscar a Mejor Director y lo obtiene cuando la carrera del tapatío cumple 25 años.
Los otros mexicanos en obtener el galardón son Alfonso Cuarón, con “Gravity”, en 2014, y Alejandro González Inrriitu, con “Birdman”, en 2015, y con “El Renacido”, en 2016.
Ciencia ficción, drama e incluso historias basadas en la realidad compitieron la noche de este domingo, cuando la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas entregó el Oscar 2018, premio mayor para el séptimo arte.
La ceremonia de la edición 90 del Premio Oscar, otorgado por la Academia de Cine de Hollywood, se transmitió en vivo en toda América Latina.
